Tyrone borough officials are exploring how a windfarm could serve a dual use–as a housing project and an eye sore.
A recent proposal to construct a windfarm in the area has made some officials suggest that the huge 400-foot structures could serve as apartments for the town’s booming section 8 population.
“I don’t know whether a windmill will have enough of a detrimental effect on property values,” said an unnamed borough official. “We really need to put our heads together if we want to uphold our reputation of putting the screws to the borough taxpayer.”
Tyrone’s section 8 residents say they favor the plan.
“Well, heck, running a meth lab takes a lot of electricity and I’d have all that wind energy,” Joe Tanner said. “And I’d get all that fresh bird kill on a daily basis.”
