White Mediocre-ist Thinks White People Are Alright Print

Average White Guys

White mediocre-ist puts his fighting skills at "average" to "ok."

Timothy Blunt, of Coalport, Pa., takes down his World War II Italian battle flag from his porch. Inside pictures of Benito Mussolini and General Francisco Franco adorn the walls of his study, a room he's careful not to let guests enter.

"I'm afraid the guests and neighbors might complain," Blunt said. "I try not to be too offensive, too in your face."

Deception and racial introspection are tools of the movement.

Blunt is one of a growing number of White Mediocre-ists, a group that believes that white people are "OK" and "not bad." Their heroes are white leaders who did "alright."

According to Blunt, his beliefs were shaped by years of exposure to unassuming, unexceptional white people.

"I grew up in an all-average school district," said Blunt. "I never even met any minorities until I went to the army and there were a couple really above average white and black fellas in my company."

Blunt belongs to a group of white mediocre-ists called the Average White Movement (AWM).

Darrell Danford, the group's creator, said he started the party because he is wracked with self-doubt and insecurities. He firmly believes stereotypes that members of most racial groups are a little better than him.

"I know for a fact that most Jews are better at me than financial matters," said Danford. "Hell, I can't even make trailer payments."

Danford adds that in a pick-up basketball game with a group of black students in community college, his all-white team was trounced.

"But we did beat the Asian kids," Danford quickly adds. "Until we started talking smack about SAT scores."

The Department of Homeland Security said that the mediocre-ists are a worrisome trend of interdepence movements and semi-separatist groups, like the "Kick San Francisco Out Of The Union" party.

"Any time white people gaggle up, trouble is surely afoot," said agent Marsha Wallop, who heads up the anti-whitey task force. "Just look at disco."
